Some of the frequently asked questions pertaining to booking events in Capitol Federal Hall are listed below.
Reserving Space in Capitol Federal Hall
How do I host a TABLING event in the atrium? Contact Kendyl Grender at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a date and time for your tabling event. Tabling requests must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Requests cannot be made for table spot, as employers always have priority.
How do I book space in Cap Fed? You can request space using the online form (business.ku.edu/reservations/capitol-federal-hall). The online form must be completed for each separate event/program. Reoccurring events (such as bi-weekly club meetings) can be completed on one form. Once your form is submitted it is not approved until you receive a confirmation email, which includes a PDF of the designated space and time of the event.
Some room reservation requirements and rules:
How do I book the HIVE? The hive is not available for events. This space was intended to create an innovative and collaborative environment for Business students to complete their coursework.
Can I have food catered for my event? Food is permitted in the atrium, colloquium, and the hive. If your event is only open to your club's members, you are not required to use KU Dining. If your event is open to all School of Business students, KU Dining should be your first option for food. If KU Dining does not offer the specific food item(s) you are wanting, outside food can be approved by filling out this form. The form should be submitted to Michael Wade Smith, Executive Director of Marketing and Advancement, at email@example.com. No food or drink is allowed in the classrooms. Food is allowed in the Colloquium, the Atrium, the Hive, and conference rooms.
Are there University resources for hosting events? Yes! You can find more information about the University Events Committee on SILC's website at http://silc.ku.edu/gettingstarted.
PLEASE NOTE: All KU students and faculty have the ability to book rooms in Capitol Federal Hall. However, as business students, you have precedence over the other requests. Your request for a room will not be turned down due to someone from a different school booking the room you need.
