What is a case competition?
A team of students will be allotted a specific amount of time during which they will work to develop a solution to a case study. The case will be related to a potential real-world situation that could arise within the realm of business. Each team will present its solution to a panel of judges who will evaluate the team's presentation based on certain criteria.

Overview of the Competition
In an effort to increase camaraderie and connections among college students in the state of Kansas, the UBC is working closely with Cerner to develop a case competition for all of the Kansas Regent universities. Aside from developing connections between students, the case competition will provide leadership and teamwork experience as well as networking opportunities with Cerner employees.

focus on developing a resourcing strategy to meet the needs of supporting Cerner’s global client base. Teams will
analyze trends and make data-driven recommendations to improve business operations. Students will gain

Timeline of Events
Each university will host the case competition on their respective campus to determine the top team. Cerner will
host the university finalists to select the overall competition winners. Teams will consist of two to four students.

Monday, September 18th: Cerner hosts a virtual kickoff event and sends the case to competing teams, 5:00-6:00PM
Friday, September 22nd: Teams present to representatives from their respective universities. One team from each university is chosen to advance to the final round of competition.
Friday, September 29th: Finalists from each university travel to Cerner's campus in Kansas City, KS where they will present their case to representatives from Cerner. An overall winner will be chosen and prizes will be awarded.

Prizes
From the final round of presentations, the top three teams will be awarded the following prizes:
• First Place: $150 for each member plus the coveted trophy to showcase at your university
• Second Place: $100 for each member
• Third Place: $50 for each member
